Kahshe Lake Cottages for Sale

Kahshe Lake

The original name Kah-she-she-bog-a-mog has been interpreted in several ways. According to local tradition, it’s often said to mean “Lake of Healing Waters” or “Lake of Many Ducks and Loons.” Linguistic work based on early Ojibwe dictionaries suggests a meaning closer to “Lake of Many Ducks.”

Kahshe Lake is one of south Muskoka’s most picturesque waterways. Its rugged granite outcroppings, windswept pines, and rocky shoals create a dramatic Canadian Shield landscape that’s both beautiful and, at times, challenging for boaters. The lake is primarily water access, supported by two full-service marinas, and is home to an active ratepayers association that closely monitors water quality, shoreline development, and environmental stewardship.
